  • Is Acupuncture safe?
Yes, acupuncture is safe when performed by a qualified practitioner, and it has been proven to deliver excellent results. When choosing an acupuncturist, make sure they are registered with a regulated body such as the British Acupuncture Council or the British Acupuncture Association. Don't hesitate to ask about the practitioner's qualifications.
  • Do the needles hurt?
The acupuncture and cosmetic treatment needles used are very fine, single-use needles. They cause very little sensation during insertion and treatment, with any discomfort occasionally limited to a mild stinging feeling. Overall, the treatment is typically very relaxing. If you're unsure about the needles, I’ll take the time to explain the process in detail during your consultation. Most first-timers are pleasantly surprised by how fine and gentle the needles are. There are generally no side effects after treatment, though in rare cases, you may experience some localized bruising, but this is minor and will fade quickly.
  • What can I expect from my first consultation?
During your initial consultation, we will review your full health history. This discussion will help me understand you better and determine the best approach to support you. It will allow me to conduct a thorough evaluation of the condition you're seeking treatment for. The consultation will involve questions about your lifestyle as well as specifics related to your condition. I will also assess your pulses, examine your tongue, and may palpate certain meridians to identify any tender areas, The consultation and initial treatment typically lasts around 2 hours.
  • How often should I come for Acupuncture Treatment?
It's recommended that you receive treatments as regularly as possible to fully experience the benefits acupuncture offers for your body, mind, and spirit. I typically see new patients weekly for up to 6 weeks, after which the sessions become more spaced out. The frequency of continued treatment will then depend on how you respond.
  • Do you have a Governing Body?
Yes, I am a proud member of the British Acupuncture Counsel. https://acupuncture.org.uk/
  • How much notice do I need to give when booking?
I try to accept a limited number of new patients each month, so typically I can schedule you in within 4-6 weeks.
  • How much notice do I need to give if I need to cancel?
24 hours notice is required for cancellation or a charge may be levied.
  • Do you offer vouchers?
Yes, I provide vouchers upon request.
